Class agenda: we took a quiz and then we had to work on 5.3

In class first mr. Cooper explained how to do activity 3.

EG:(2,6) (0,4)

Then we paired up to do the quiz and when we were done We had to work on 5.3.

5.3 Connecting points

For any two points, there is exactly one straight line that can be drawn through both points. In this problem, you will given two coordinate of two points. Your task will be to find information about the line through these points – including its slope, its y-intercept, and the coordinates of other points that lie on the line.

Do part A,B,D and E for the two first only and C for all 6.

  1. (2,6) and (0,4)
  2. (2,3) and (4,6)
  3. (0,3) and (1,4)
  4. (-1,3) and (1,0)
  5. (1,4) and (3,4)
  6. (4,1) and (-4,2)

B. Do the y values for points on the line increase, decrease or stay the same as the x values increase?

I. Increase

II. Increase

E. Use the graph or the table to find the y-intercept of the line.
  1. Y-intercept = 4
  2. Y-intercept = 0
